Update from the Elders Regarding COVID-19

Dear Northside Family and Friends,

We are so glad that so many of you have been participating online in our services and daily Bible studies. We continue to encourage your participation and invite you friends! Join us on the Facebook group page or website.

Secret Church 2020
We also encourage you to participate in Secret Church 2020 on Friday, April 24th at 7 pm. This is an annual live simulcast event which engages people all over the world with solid biblical teaching. It is designed as an intense teaching and praying session in solidarity with those Christians around the world who are not able to gather together in the open. The topic this year is God, Government, and the Gospel.

This event is specifically designed around the idea of smaller groups meeting in homes and participating in the live simulcast. In other words, you can participate from your home! If you have never participated before, this seems like a very appropriate time to join for the first time.

As a church, we have registered for 20 participants. We haven’t filled up all the spots yet, so we are receiving names on a first-come, first-serve basis. The cost to register through the church is $10, which includes a physical study guide. Another option for participation is to register directly on the Secret Church website. The cost for one person is $12, which includes a study guide.

Do we have the best contact information?
We have an internal church database which helps us keep track of the best contact info for our members and regular attenders. We keep phone numbers, mailing addresses, and email addresses on file. If you believe that we have incorrect or outdated contact information, please write us an email at office@northsideindy.org or bcross@northsideindy.org.

When will we get together again?
Finally, you may wonder what the timeline is for us to resume our gatherings. The short answer is we are not entirely sure because we have not yet received the guidance that we are seeking. Early on in this crisis, we determined that, as a general rule, we would base our decisions on the guidance that local and state officials provided. We would also make our decisions in consultation with local, state, and national SBC entities. We still believe this is the best course of action. These various officials and entities have not provided any guidance or direction on what reopening look like, so we do not have any timeline to offer you. We invite you to continue to pray for both us as your elders and for our elected officials at all levels of government as we all try to navigate these unique and uncertain times (1 Timothy 2:1-2).

In Christ,

Your Elders (Mike Bowman, John Reeder, Dennis Brooks, Jim Moran, and Nate Brock)
