American Heritage Girls is a Christ-centered ministry for girls ages 5-18, centered around life-skill enhancement, developing teamwork and building confidence, social development, girl leadership, character development and spiritual development.  AHG’s mission is to build women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country.  The troop meets at Northside on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month through the school year, starting in September. There are also some weekend camping, badge and field trip opportunities.

AHG includes 5 levels of programming:

Pathfinders (at least 5 years old and in Kindergarten)
Tenderheart (at least 6 years old in grades 1-3)
Explorers (at least 9 years old in grades 4-6)
Pioneers (at least 12 years old in grades 7-8)
Patriots (at least 14 years old in grades 9-12)

Girls have the opportunity to earn badges for skills developed, service stars for hours of community service performed, religious recognitions, and activity patches.  Our troop will be looking for ways to serve Northside and its other ministries, as well.

AHG is off to a strong start at Northside, with several leaders who have participated as volunteers with AHG for many years.  However, we are still looking for more volunteers with a variety of interests who are willing to help launch this ministry.  Whether you are a parent and want to volunteer alongside your daughter, a veteran who wants to share your tradition of patriotism, an empty-nester who enjoys passing on outdoor skills, or a senior adult who wants to pass on your wisdom to help build the next generation of godly young women, there is a spot for you!    Please pray for this ministry as it seeks to instill godly principles in young women at Northside.
